Vikki Marmaras is a picture book author and active member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). When Vikki is not writing, she works part time for an international children’s charity and raises her young family.

Melanie Mikecz

Melanie Mikecz is an artist and illustrator who earned a B.F.A in Visual Communications from the Washington University School of Art in St. Louis. Melanie loves drawing a menagerie of colorful creatures and geometric abstracts. When she’s not creating art, she enjoys long distance running and hiking. She currently lives in San Francisco with her husband and two rambunctious daughters.

Nessa Bellido Schwarz

Nessa Bellido Schwarz is a Latina author who writes about history, science, nature, and the joys and perils of growing up. She lives in Southern California with her husband, young son, and a tortoise named Leonardo Da Vinci. Nessa is a longtime member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, and her work has been published in Highlights magazine. GEORGE the Flybot is her debut chapter-book series for children.

Julia Seal

Julia Seal knew from the age of five what she wanted to do for a living-draw pictures! After earning a degree in Graphic Design and working in the greeting card industry (where she got covered in glitter every day!), she finally moved onto her dream job, illustrating children’s books.

Always passionate about environmental issues, she was inspired to write “Bloom” after reading that disposable masks would soon outnumber jellyfish in the ocean. Her hope is to help children understand and appreciate the delicate balance of life in our waters.

Emma-Claire Sunday is an author and high school teacher who delights in bringing LGBTQ+ stories to the page. She’s worked in outdoor education for the past decade, so she knows that summer camp is a magical place where campers and counselors can learn to express their true selves. Emma-Claire lives in New Jersey with her partner, Patrick, whom she met at camp.

Randy'L He-Dow Teton

Randy’L He-Dow Teton is a member of the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes of Fort Hall, Idaho. Randy’L has gained wide recognition for her work in tribal government, communications, and public relations. She is proud to serve her family, tribe, state, and Indian Country by helping Tribes tell their story from their perspective. She lives in Idaho with her three children, Kumia, Pongose, and Abalone Rose and enjoys collecting coins.

Born and raised in San Diego, California, Jeffrey Turner had an interest in art from the time he received his first box of crayons. He majored in Advertising Design in college and worked in advertising in Manhattan for 30 years as an Art Director and Creative Director. After leaving advertising, he began writing and illustrating picture books.
